8th Grade Voc. Health

Please keep in mind that these 12 'new' vocabulary words will be in addition to the 14 previous vocabulary words which may appear on Thursday's upcoming test.

1. Anxious- to contend with difficulty or stress
2. Relaxation- relief from effort or strain; the condition or experience of calm and ease.
3. Anger- strong feeling of displeasure against someone or something combined with the urge to strike back.
4. Control- the power to direct, manage, or hold back.
5. Reframing- changing the way one thinks about a situation.
6. Self- statement- a statement one tells oneself to stay in control.
7. Communication- the act of expressing oneself in such a way that one is readily and clearly understood.
8. Verbal- Spoken/ Words
9. Non-verbal- body language and facial expression.
10. Ambiguous- uncertain or obscure.
11. Misunderstanding- a failure to interpret a message correctly.
12. Paraphrase- restatement of a message to clarify its meaning.
