Physical Education 7th/ 8th

There will be a test on the following information Friday January 15, 2010

> 10 minutes of single jump is equal to 30 minutes of jogging.
> To measure the correct height of your jump rope you need to step on the middle of the rope with ONE foot and pull the handles up. The handles should be somewhere between armpits and earlobes.
> Jumping rope on a consistent basis will improve Cardiovascular Endurance, Muscular Strength, and Muscular Endurance. (All of which are components of Health Related Physical Fitness)
>Single jumping is one jump for every turn of the rope.
>A double jump is two jumps for every turn of the rope.
>A double under is two turns of the rope for every one jump.
>When you jump rope you need to land on the balls of your feet and your heels should barely touch the ground.
>All jump rope skills are best performed with a single jump.
>Jump Rope is found World Wide through competitions, athletics, physical training, and tournaments.
