PE Quiz outline

Pulse Quiz

Radial- located in the wrist, thumb side.
Brachial- upper arm underside between the bicep and tricep
Carotid- located in the neck about 1 finger length from the earlobe

We use the index and middle finger for taking a pulse count.
Thumb has a pulse of its own.

It is important to increase the heart rate minimum of 30 minutes most days of the week to
1. Make the heart stronger
2. Improve circulation in the body
3. Maintain a healthy weight
When you raise the heart rate you will raise the body temperature which increases blood flow and burns calories (unit of energy).

To find your pulse count for 6 seconds and then add a zero to that number (for example if you counted 6 beats then you would have 60 beats per minute).
Your maximum heart rate is determined by subtracting your age from 220.
